Happy Friday! It's been forever since I've blogged, but I have good reason! There is so much to tell, so I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share all the awesomeness with you. (Hint: the BIG news is at the bottom!)
Today, we went on a field trip to Taylor Creek to explore Kokanee Salmon in their natural habitat. This was by far the most beautiful field trip I've ever been on. The mountains were just gorgeous! The kids loved looking at the salmon in the creek and exploring all the park has to offer.
The red spots in the water are the salmon.
While we were there, we got a close up of a bear. If you've been following this blog, you'll know I just moved from Central Texas to the Lake Tahoe area. Bears are not something I'm used to. We got out of there pretty quick, but not before we got a picture. Of his behind. See that lump in the woods? Right in the middle? He just laid down right there and got comfy. Us? We backed away slowly.

My parents came into town this past week and we had a little staycation type trip with them and did all the touristy stuff Lake Tahoe has to offer. We went into the old mining towns, up into the mountains where we drove through a little snow storm, and walked on the beach in the freezing weather. It was all so beautiful.
Saturday was Nevada Day, which means a massive parade through downtown and a hot air balloon launch. There was too much cloud cover for the balloons to take off, but we were able to see them all big and beautiful before the launch was canceled.
And the fall colors were amazing.
But my favorite part of their whole trip was when…
…we got engaged!
While we were at the Nevada Day parade, Ben got down on one knee right there in front of everyone. Almost all of our family was there. It was perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better proposal.
It has been an amazing few weeks and I feel so blessed. Thanks for stopping by. Now swing over to Doodle Bugs Teaching for more Five for Friday fun and have a great weekend.
