Five for Friday (2/26/16)

Happy Friday! It's been a bang-up week over here (literally) and I am thankful for a little weekend rest. I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for one of my favorite linkys: Five for Friday!

We've been learning about Texas and US symbols this month, so as a culminating activity, the kids made their own personal symbols book. They had to decide what animal, flag, song, etc. would represent them and draw and write about it in their books. You can get your own copy of it here.

Tuesday, we had a data meeting so we actually got to GO OFF CAMPUS FOR LUNCH!!! Can you believe it?! A real lunch like "other people" have!

We went to a local taco place and everything was great until…dun, dun, dun…I stood up. Yeah that's it. I stood up, rolled my ankle, and went down with a bang. My ankle swelled up almost instantly and it's all blue and purple now. (They should have named me Grace!)

Being the resourceful person I am, when I got back to campus, I stuck an ice pack on it, tightened up my pants leg, and used a binder clip to hold it all still.

Yes, I know I'm a nerd.

Being that I couldn't walk on it by the time I got home, I put in for a sub and stayed home Wednesday. I got so much done on the computer! Check out my newest math centers set. It's the perfect balance between baseball and beauty.

Included in this set are centers for: base 10 comparison, telling time, adding 2 numbers, adding 3 numbers, subtraction, coin identification, measurement, number bonds, missing numbers/sequencing, graphing and data analysis, and adding 10. Each center includes recording sheets as well.

I also made a spring version of my number order task cards. Ninja Bunnies anyone? There are four different levels to meet all your students' needs as well as two different recording sheets.

Thursday was the school's Black History month performance. My class has been very focused on equality and civil rights so they sang Respect from Aretha Franklin. So. Stinkin'. Cute!

How was your week? Let me know in the comments below, then head on over to Doodle Bugs Teaching for more Five for Friday fun! Have a great weekend.
